Bracknell Town Centre Regeneration

Bracknell Forest is a borough situated in Berkshire, which in 2016 became the subject of an ambitious and exciting regeneration project. Overseen by the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, the project was undertaken by Mace as Principal Contractor.

Bracknell Town Centre Regeneration

Situated within the town centre, the regeneration project was expansive in scope, involving the construction of ten casual dining restaurants and a 12-screen Cineworld. A highlight of the project was the restoration of The Bull public house, a Grade II listed building that was a celebrated part of the borough’s heritage.

CLM Fireproofing was contracted to provide intumescent fire protection to 35,000 sqm of steelwork throughout the town centre and all passive fire protection through walls and floors.

Given the scope of work, each stage of the project had to be planned in extensive detail to meet client KPI targets and program dates. For instance, our specialists had to apply intumescent paint to steelwork with a decorative finish, with the client team carrying out quality assurance checks across multiple project stages.

Our team prides itself on balancing technical expertise with high-level strategic planning. For example, due to Bracknell Town Centre’s open-air design, we selected intumescent paint that was weather-resistant 1 hour after application. This allowed us to continue work all year round between January 2016 and May 2018 which, alongside our distinctive early engagement process and on-site paint application, resulted in the project being delivered on time.
