CLM is proud to champion responsible and innovative business behaviours, with a dedication to improving our service to our clients, our people, our partners and the communities we work in.
Founder & CEO of CLM Group
“I am personally very passionate and 100% committed to delivering our collective environmental and sustainability goals. Part of this commitment is looking at initiatives which improve how we do things for the benefit of our environment and communities. Initiatives include partnering with our product suppliers to develop a cardboard tube to replace the plastic tubes in use for all mastics. The current usage is 400,000 plastic tubes a year and our target is to reduce this to 80,000 a reduction of 80% by the end of 2019. I have set a target of replacing 50% of our vans with electric or hybrid vehicles by the end of 2019 and I am are reviewing plans to install solar panels at our new Sevenoaks offices. CLM are committed to change and strive to continually improve – in every aspect”
Technology and Innovation
Is at the heart of Clive Miles’ business philosophy. Clive forms part of Technical Champion Think Tanks and advises clients and partners on innovative standards specifications for Passive Fire Proofing. CLM has made significant investment in innovation, having recruited a dedicated Digital Transformation Manager early 2018. This pivotal role is to scan emerging technology and innovative means to improve business functionality, efficiency and service delivery for our clients in each of our specialist businesses.
CLM have partnered with Boris, a market leading quality and compliance technology application, providing our clients the Compliance+ platform standard supported by full visibility of all projects via real-time project portals and digital audit records. Our work eliminates or mitigates risks to the client; ensuring 100% compliance in line with changing legislation within a highly technical, increasingly legislative market.
Through further technology investment, we apply strict digitalised controls for material and plant selection and procurement; delivering cost, efficiency savings and environmental sustainability assurances to our clients. Our platform produces real-time reporting detailing quantities, pricing and program schedule, consistently providing data to support the competitive procurement process. This ensures CLM aren’t just at the forefront of quality products, but we are achieving the optimum commercial advantage and cost savings for our clients.
Health and Safety
CLM are a genuine leader in the Health and Safety standard in the Passive Fire Proofing Specialist market. Will Naylor, our Health and Safety Manager is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, CMIOSH. Will is responsible for our Health and Safety Risk and Mitigation Systems at Work, forming an integral part of our Specialist Fire Life Safety Guarantee.
Social Value and Community Investment
We understand the delivery of true Social Value and Community Investment (SVCI) is imperative. In our experience, the best way to deliver true SVCI is through driving initiatives in collaboration with our clients to achieve a ‘big picture approach’ upholding the assertion a single business can’t deliver everything on their own.
CLM’s Clive Miles is a founding member of a group of entrepreneurs called the Pink Tie Club, a construction focus group who, though joining forces have raised over £300, 000 in the last five years for local communities and charities including the Dennis Wise and Ellen Macarthur local charities. CLM also took part in BBC DIY SOS, contributing to building the new Grenfell Community Centre.
Environmental and Sustainability Commitments
CLM Fireproofing are fully conversant and committed to ensuring adherence to legislation and regulations aimed at minimizing the impact of our activities to the environment and ensuring sustainability. The CLM strategy for environmental and sustainability development is planning for the future and we continue to work with our clients to align our goals and deliver a target number of initiatives which will have a positive effect on the wider industry.
